EDPS conference: Data takes flight: Navigating privacy at the airport
On 12 February 2026 I had the pleasure of participating in a most interesting discussion during the EDPS – European Data Protection Supervisor conference “Data takes flight: Navigating privacy at the airport”, a topic close to my heart both for practical reasons (…too much travelling) and because, some 20 years ago, I was in the room (as a representative of the Greek government) when the first PNR Framework Decision, well, failed…
Now all these years have passed, PNR-processing is by now taken for granted, however here I am modestly asking everybody, at least for argument’s sake, to ‘take a step back’ (you can watch this on my YouTube channel, or the whole conference video on the EDPS website).
